2808 Student of Bihar selected for National Scholarship

2808 Students of Bihar have been selected for National Income-cum-Merit Scholarships for this year. These Students would receive Rs 6000 annually for the next 4 years or by the time they complete Plus 2.

A total of 2257 Boys and 571 girls from Bihar have been selected  for this prestigious scholarship this year. This number is significantly higher than 2346 Students selected last year.

Vikram Raj from Gaya and Supriya Shreya from Nawada have been declared the State Toppers in Boys and Girls Category

This is a Central Government Sponsored Scholarship Scheme for Students who are meritorious but lack financial means.  The scholarship is provided without any consideration of caste or religion of the students.

Union HRD Ministry started this scheme in 2008 and since then millions of poor students have benefited from it . The Ministry conducts a nationwide written test for this purpose every year. This year 67622 students appeared for this test from Bihar alone.
