India to fund Nepal with 3 Crores for constructing Bridges along Border

India will provide an assistance of 3 crores and 17 Lakhs Nepali Rupees to Nepal for constructing a bridge over Bangari River in Bara district. A memorandum of understanding was signed today in Kathmandu between the Embassy of India and Nepal’s Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, Department of Roads for the construction of the bridge under the Nepal- India Economic programme.

The proposed forty metre long bridge at Bhaluhi-Bharwalia in Chiljhapati Ghat would serve as a link to the road connecting the Nepal-India Border. The construction of bridge alongwith embankment on both sides will facilitate the easy movement of goods and services. It is expected that over 75,000 people are going to be benefited from this bridge by providing all year connectivity with the district.

The project will be implemented by the Division Road Office, Hetauda in accordance with the existing norms and regulations of the Government of Nepal. According to a press release ,the construction of the bridge is in addition to Indian assistance of two crore and ninty three lakhs nepali rupees have been provided for the construction of two school buildings in the District. India has also provided eight ambulances and two school buses in the District.
