Indian Railways would provide preference to Pregnant Women for allotment of Lower Births during Reservation at all its counters across India. This facility is already prevalent at Western Railways, but other railway zones donot provide this facility.
As per latest guidelines, pregnant women and women carrying infants would be given priority in allotment of Lower Births in all classes of Reserved coaches. In the new reservation form issued by the Railways, there would be a checkbox for indicating pregnancy. However, a copy of relevant medical certificate would have to be provided at the time of Reservation.
