Bihar prepares to set up Anti Terrorism Squad of over 300 Cops

Patna: Bihar Government is all prepared to set up an ATS (Anti- Terrorism Squad) in the wake of recent Serial Bomb Blasts at Bodhgaya, which is alleged to be a Terrorist Activity. The proposal to setup an ATS first came in 2006, but the State Govt did not feel it necessary that time.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced yesterday that his government was mulling a proposal to set up an ATS to combat heightened security challenges in the state.

The state cabinet has cleared the 344 posts for the ATS and the appointments for the post have been sanctioned.

Few months back Bihar had setup its first Anti-Terrorism Police Station.
