Patna to have a World Class Bus Terminal near Patna Gaya Highway

Patna would soon have  a Bus Terminal with all necessary facilities to make it truly world class. The Terminal would be on the pattern to those at Metropolitan cities like New Delhi and Bangalore.

With a Bus Capacity of over 3000, Patna Inter State Bus Terminus would be regular platforms with Seating Capacity, Food Courts, Shopping Complex Foot over Bridges, Announcement System, Private Vehicle Parking, Electronic Display of Bus Schedules and proper Security Arrangements.

It will also have several  hotels, locker rooms, travel agency offices, shops, supermarkets, ATMs, dorm rooms (A/C and non-A/C) for rent, toilets, round-the-clock security, pure drinking water free of cost, 24-hour pharmacy, and first-aid facilities and medical assistance. Wheel chairs would also be  provided for the physically disabled. It will have round-the-clock  fire-fighting system and surveillance cameras will been installed at various locations.

New Patna Inter State Bus Terminal to be modeled on the pattern of Chennai

The State Government has already made up its mind to construct such a Bus terminus near Patna Gaya National Highway on 26 acres of Land. It has also decided a budget of Rs 200 Crores for the Construction of Modern Terminal.

It has been estimated that there would be over 500,000 footfalls per day and over 3000 buses including  city ride buses would ply in and out of  Patna Inter State Bus Terminus. It will also have parking facility for  1,500 to 2,000 two-wheelers and 60 cars on the premises of the bus terminus,

Department Secretary S. Siddhartha said this is a highly ambitious project and it will be one of the biggest bus terminals in the country. “The complex will have eight floors of markets and restaurants. Soon the construction work will start as the loan has already been approved,” the secretary said.
