Anita Prasad Sharma, a 18 year old B. Pharma Student form RKDF College of Bhopal Madhya PRadesh has committed suicide after repeatedly being harassed by Seniors in the name of Ragging. In her suicide note Anita alleged 5 Seniors including 4 girls of forcing her to be in relationship with a Boy.
Anita Sharma further alleges that Seniors  forced her to write their mid-semester copies and when she brought this to the notice of faculty member, identified as Manish, he asked her to obey her seniors if she wanted to continue in the college. When the seniors came to know about her complaint, they started harassing her further and threatened to throw acid on her as well as rape her.
The Suicide note read, “Five seniors including, four girls and a boy, have been harassing me since I joined the college in 2012. I was thinking that they would stop this when I get into the second year. But, they continued to harass me in the second year too. Now, I have been fed up with all these things, I am going from this world. God will surely punish them! “.
Anita  hanged herself when her parents, brother and sister were not in at home at  Jeevan Vihar Society of Bhopal.  When elder sister Sarita Sharma came back, she found her room locked from inside. When she did not open the door even after repeated knocks, she called neighbours. Later, they broke open the door and found Anita hanging from the ceiling.
The Police has arrested four girls she named in Suicide note along with the Faculty Members Manish. According to Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Dilip Singh Tomar,  her four seniors, identified as Nidhi, Dipti, Divyanshi and Preeti and faculty member Manish have been arrested on Thursday.
The  case has also been brought into the cognizance of Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan who asked Authorities to take stern action to prevent ragging in colleges.
