Ludhiana Acid Attack: Bride Suffers 45% Burns with Injuries

Ludhiana: In one of the ugliest cases of Acid Attack on Women in India, a 22 year old bride to be, was thrown acid on face by a 25 year old  man outside a Beauty Parlour at Sarabha nagar, Ludhiana in Punjab.

Reports say that, the girl had gone to the  Beauty Parlour for her bridal make up shortly before her marriage today morning when the young man barged in and threw acid on her and fled the spot.

The Woman sustained approx 45% burns and injuries. Three other girls, who were doing her bridal makeup also suffered the  attack, but did not sustain any injury and were discharged soon.

She has been admitted to DMC Hospital, where doctors say that she was stable but did not rule out any damage to her eyesight. She is presently under supervision in ICU.

Doctors say that  her face, eyes, chest and abdomen have  affected due to acid attack..

The 25 year old Accused is said to be a friend of Victim’s brother. He was coercing her to marry him and had threatened of dire consequences if she did not marry him.

When she came for bridal makeup today morning at Beauty Parlour, the accused threw acid on her  and escaped in a car kept in running condition outside the parlour in Sarabha Nagar.

The Accused and the victim both belonged to Barnala town of Punjab. Her marriage which was scheduled to take place today has been postponed.

Police says that a youth has been detained for interrogation in connection with the incident, however the accused is still at large.
