DSP of Bhabua in Bihar alleges Sexual Harassment by Police SP

Patna: Bihar Police Officer Nirmala Kumari, presently posted as DSP of Bhabua has alleged Sexual Harassment by Kaimur SP Pushkar Anand. She has lodged a complaint against Anand charging him with sexually exploiting her on the pretext of marrying her. A FIR has also been registered in this case.

Bihar Police has ordered an internal enquiry into the matter. A 3 membered committee has been formed consisting of Inspector General of Police Anupama Nikelar, Harpreet Kaur (SP) and Rajesh Kumar (Inspector).

In a written complaint filed on December 23 at the Female Police Station, DSP Nirmala Kumari alleged that she and Anand had met 2-3 years back. They developed sexual relationship amid promises of marriage. However later when she pressurized him for marriage, he refused and misbehaved with her.

Police SP, Pushkar Anand however denied the charges and claimed that he was being framed by the complainant after he refused to take out the name of an ASP Manoj Kumar Yadav from an FIR with regard to kidnapping-cum-murder case.

Bihar’s DGP P K Thakur has also taken cognizance of the matter and said that appropriate action would be taken upon the probe report of Committee.
