L Narasimha Reddy sworn in as Chief Justice of Patna High Court

Patna: Justice L Narasimha Reddy, the senior most judge of Hyderabad High Court has been appointed as the Chief Justice of Patna High Court. Bihar Governor Keshri nath Tripathi administered him the Oath of Office on Friday. Interestingly, he took the oath in Hindi.

He succeeds Justice Rekhaben M Doshit, who superannuated on December 15. His appointment as Chief Justice was notified by President of India’ on December 27.

The Oath ceremony was graced by Bihar CM Jitan Ram Manjhi along with Patna High Court judges, Ministers of the State Government and Political Leaders. Several lawyers from Hyderabad High Court were also present.

Justice Narasimha Reddy was born on August 1, 1953 in Gavicherla village in Warangal district of undivided Andhra Pradesh. He studied B.Sc at CKM College in Warangal and obtained master’s degree in International law from Osmania University. He enrolled as an advocate in 1979 with the Bar Council of AP. He served as the Secretary of AP High Court Advocates Association during 1988-90. Since, July 31, 2002, he served as a judge of Hyderabad High Court.
