New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of L C Goyal, IAS (KL:79) Secretary, Department of Rural Development, Ministry of Rural Development as Home Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs for a period of two years from the date of taking over charge as Home Secretary in place of Anil Goswami, IAS (JK:78).
The ACC has also approved the acceptance of the request of Anil Goswami, Home Secretary for voluntarily retiring from service with immediate effect by waiving the notice period. The term of Anil Goswami as Home Secretary stands curtailed with immediate effect.
Newly appointed Home Secretary LC Goyal arrived at the Home Ministry in North Block this morning to take up the charge he was given on Wednesday after the removal of Anil Goswami.
