8th installment of Star Wars Series to be released on May 26, 2017

Disney has announced that it will release the eighth installment in the “Star Wars” film series on May 26, 2017. Chief Executive Bob Iger made the announcement on Thursday (March 12) at Disney’s annual shareholders meeting.

The J.J. Abrams-directed “Force Awakens,” the next Star Wars film, opens this year on December 18. It was also revealed on Thursday that a spin-off from the franchise, already announced to star Felicity Jones, will be called “Rogue One” and will be released in December 2016.

Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, toured the set of ‘Downton Abbey’ on Thursday (March 12). The royal posed for photos with the cast of the wildly popular television series, and met with the actors one-on-one, including visiting Michelle Dockery in her on-set bedroom and going ‘downstairs’ to meet with actresses Lesley Nicol and Sophie McShera in the Downton Abbey kitchen. The show is currently filming its sixth season.

Richard Glatzer, one of the co-directors of the film “Still Alice,” has died. Glatzer had been suffering with ALS and died from the disease. He was 63. Glatzer directed a handful of independent films with his husband Wash Westmoreland.
