Moscow: With Boris Nemtsov’s murder, one analyst says Russia seems to be going down a path where violence is the answer.

Nemtsov frequently criticized Russian leadership and even feared that President Vladimir Putin wanted him dead.
Political analyst Konstantin Von Eggert says that fear has merit in Russia.
He says, “Being a critic of the authorities is nearly equal to being a criminal.”
Nemtsov was shot dead near the Kremlin late on Friday.
Russia’s Investigative Committee, which answers to Putin, said it was following several lines of inquiry, including that the opposition may have committed the crime to rally support for a march against the Kremlin originally planned for Sunday.
Von Eggert adds the conflict in eastern Ukraine has created an atmosphere for this type of violence.
“The violence that we witness daily on our TV screens, the violence that’s very frequently glorified by state propaganda, this violence could not but finally take root in Russia”, he said.
Authorities believe they found the car suspected of being used by the killers.
It was identified as coming from the mainly Muslim Ingushetia region.
But as the investigation continues, pressure is mounting in Moscow as an opposition party mourns its loss.
