Steeped in sporting history, the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) has been providing a wealth of entertainment for over 150 years.

It is the home ground for the state cricket team, the New South Wales Blues and the Big Bash franchise, the Sydney Sixers. The venue also hosted one of the semi-finals in the ICC Cricket World Cup 1992 between England and then first-timers South Africa.

Almost every famous Australian cricketer has competed within the historic grounds, which is considered among Australia’s architectural treasures. As well as Test cricket, One Day International cricket, and Twenty20 cricket, the stadium also hosts AFL, rugby league and rugby union.

Before the Sydney Football Stadium was built next-door, the SCG was also the major venue for Rugby League in Sydney with the Grand Final held for many years.

The SCG is famous for its two historic stands which still stand today – the members and ladies stands.
