Bhiwandi: A seven-year-old boy was allegedly sexually assaulted and then set on fire by three men in Bhiwandi town in Thane district of Maharashtra. The unpleasant incident took place on Saturday morning when the child had gone to eat at a community kitchen.
The boy was lured by the three accused and taken to an isolated spot where he was allegedly sexually assaulted and then set on fire by the accused. The boy has suffered 30 per cent burn injuries and is being treated at the Thane Civil hospital.
A case was registered by the police under sections 363 (kidnapping), 377 (Unnatural Sex) and 342 (wrongful confinement) of the Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012. Three people have been arrested in connection with the incident and the matter is being further investigated.
