Vankadara Saritha becomes 1st Female driver of Delhi Transport Corporation

In a historical first, Vankadara Saritha has been made the first woman driver of Delhi Transport Corporation. The capital has seen women driving autos and cabs but for the first time Delhiites will witness a woman driving a bus. She comes from Nalgonda district in Telangana. She is 30 years old.

Delhi transport minister Gopal Rai inducted Saritha as DTC’s first woman driver on Friday. “The DTC decision is likely to inspire and encourage other women to choose driving as a career,” Rai said.
