New Delhi: The Indian Meteorological Department has said that there is no cyclone Ashobaa at present over the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal neither, is there any probability of development of cyclone over this region during next one week. The IMD has issued this bulletin as there were certain false alarms about an impending cyclone on some social networking sites.
IMD is the nodal agency to monitor and issue warnings in association with cyclonic disturbances over the north Indian Ocean including the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea. As and when situation will arise, appropriate bulletins/messages will be issued by IMD to concerned agencies and details will also be provided to media agencies as well as uploaded on IMD’s official website for cyclone alerts
