Visually Challenged Workers make paper cups and plates in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh

Kanpur: Visually impaired people in the Kanpur city of Uttar Pradesh are not allowing their handicap to stand between themselves and their resourcefulness.

An organisation in Uttar Pradesh is becoming the guiding light of people who are not endowed with light in their lives, helping them to stand on their own feet.

The organisation, run by a visually challenged senior lawyer SK Rungta, employs 16 visually impaired workers in a training-cum-rehabilitation project, thus helping them earn a living.

The main job of the workers is to make paper cups and plates to be sold in the markets. Prabhat Kumar Yadav, working in the organisation for five years, is confident that he could give a usual worker a run for his/her money.

Another employee, Ramesh lives away from his home in Gorakhpur city to earn daily wages for his family. The manager of the organisation, Vineeta Saxena said the organisation aims to help the differently-abled people who find it tough to find a job elsewhere.
