Chennai: Counting for RK Nagar by-polls begins

Chennai, June 30 (ANI): The counting for the RK Nagar by-polls, which recorded a poll percentage of 74.4 percent, began on Tuesday morning. Workers of the AIADMK gathered outside Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa’s residence, with her supporters anticipating her victory. The RK Nagar seat fell vacant following the resignation of P. Vetrivel. The DMK, PMK and VCK have boycotted the by-election for various reasons. A total of 28 candidates are in the fray in this assembly segment.
