Congress files complaint with ACB over alleged Rs 200 crore scam in Pankaja Munde’s ministry

Mumbai, June 24 (ANI): The Maharashtra unit of Congress party has filed a complaint with Anti Corruption Bureau in Mumbai over the alleged scam of more than Rs 200 crore in the ministry headed by Pankaja Munde in the state. Munde is the Minister of Women and Child Development in Maharashtra. Congress leader Sachin Sawant said party has valid documents to prove Munde, the daughter of late Union minister Gopinath Munde, violated rules requiring transparent online bidding and cleared inflated deals to purchase a wide array of items for state-run schools for tribal children under the Integrated Child Development Services. The Congress also alleged Munde approved the 24 contracts with vendors, including some with “close links” to her family. Meanwhile, Munde gave her statement over the issue saying “Have not broken any rules as far as I am concerned, I am here to do best for women and children. Sensationalizing anything without proper info can also destroy people’s trust in the system.”
