Congress to approach EC over Vinod Tawde degree issue

New Delhi, June 23 (ANI): Former Maharashtra Chief Minister and Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan has said that Congress will be approaching Election Commission over the issue related to Maharashtra Education Minister Vinod Tawde’s degree issue. Congress had accused Tawde of possessing fake engineering degree from an unrecognised university that is not affiliated to the UGC or AICTE. Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan said that a degree can be given only by a state or centre recognized university but Tawde’s degree was provided by a local institute so it should not be considered as valid. However, Tawde had earlier clarified that he obtained engineering degree from a Pune institute in 1984 and his degree is not bogus.
