Historic Mughal road in Kashmir becomes a business hub

Poonch, June 06 (ANI): Mughal Road, a historic roadway in Jammu and Kashmir, has become a business hub soon after it reopened last month, providing employment opportunities to many unemployed youth in the state. The 84-kilometre road, situated in Bafliaz area of Poonch district, was opened to traffic on May 03 at the onset of summer, after being closed throughout winter due to heavy snowfall. With increased traffic, trade and tourism is also flourishing along the route which houses several monuments built in the Mughal era. Business along the road has benefited the people of Poonch and Rajouri districts, with many goods and services available at rates cheaper than elsewhere in the state. The Mughal Road, which connects Rajouri and Poonch districts with the rest of Jammu and Kashmir, is a lifeline for the villages located on the border of the province as it connects them to the prominent cities of the state, which are hub of economic activities.
