Locals have harrowing time in Kashmir hospital following shortage of medical staff

Rajouri, June 07 (ANI): Locals in Nowshehra town of Jammu and Kashmir complained of inadequate medical staff at the only government hospital in the area. People from far off border areas visiting the hospital were forced to look for other options following the crisis. Though the hospital was equipped with necessary equipments, it could not be put to use due to shortage of medical staff, alleged locals. Patients are being referred to private hospitals where treatment is comparatively expensive. A village head, Bindu Chaudhary called for immediate government intervention into the matter. Having a harrowing time at the hospital, victims also sought government help to provide medical assistance to the needy. The newly-appointed District Medical Officer (DMO) of the hospital, Doctor Suresh said though the hospital was understaffed, doctors and other medical staff worked efficiently.
