Jammu, June 29 (ANI): Heavy rains lashed various parts of Jammu on Monday, bringing respite to the people of the city from the scorching heat wave. Overcast sky, cool breeze and drizzles made weather pleasant on Monday afternoon. The temperature was hovering between 38°C to 42°C from the past three weeks. Light showers in the last few days had provided people some respite from the excruciatingly hot and humid weather. Good rainfall is expected in the coming days to keep the temperature under check. The southwest monsoon has been lashing West Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Jharkhand, East Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh.
