Police arrest four people with counterfeit currency in Bihar

West Champaran, June 15 (ANI): Police arrested four people, including a woman, with counterfeit currency notes worth more than one million rupees in Bihar. Superintendent of Police, Saurav Kumar Shah, said security forces raided a house of a suspected smuggler in West Champaran district and recovered bundles of currency notes in denomination of rupees 500 and 1,000. Police interrogated the accused to ascertain the source of the money. The Indian government believes the main motive behind Pakistan’s printing of the fake notes is to destabilise the Indian economy. It is smuggled through porous borders with Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh.
