Vermicelli industry gets a boost in Tripura during Ramadan

West Tripura, June 24 (ANI): The vermicelli industry in Tripura has received a boost in the ongoing holy month of Ramadan. Sweet vermicelli is a traditional Muslim dish which is consumed during the month of Ramadan. Workers at ‘Dayananda Food Products Industries’ in West Tripura’s Ashram Para are working long hours to meet the rising demand of vermicelli from across the country. The owner of the factory, Tanoy Saha said the demand from neighbouring Bangladesh was equally high. Ramadan, the ninth month of the Hijri lunar calendar, commemorates the revelation of Koran – Islam’s holy book – and has traditionally been a time of religious fervour, settling old disputes and behaving charitably towards neighbours.
