1993 Mumbai Blast: SC dismisses Yakub Memon’s curative plea, to be hanged on July 30

Mumbai/ Pune, July 21 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed the curative plea filed by 1993 Mumbai blast convict Yakub Memon to reduce his death punishment to life imprisonment. After the historic verdict was announced, death penalty for Memon will be executed. He will be hanged in Nagpur jail on 30th July in the morning. TADA court had already issued the death warrant. Meanwhile, Justice PD Kode, who announced the death punishment to Yakub said that this verdict has announced public faith in law and justice system of the country. Special Public Prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam said that Yakub tried all possible ways to save himself, but truth and law eventually won.
