Environment minister promises to work towards improving air quality in Delhi

New Delhi, July 25 (ANI): Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar promised to work towards improving the air quality in Delhi and adjacent regions. Javadekar called on a meeting with the ministers of National Capital Region to discuss on worsening air quality of Delhi and adjacent regions. The minister added that at least 100,000 vehicle drivers were penalized in the national capital and more stringent penalties would be imposed on them if do not abide by the pollution guidelines framed by the central government. According to studies, New Delhi is now ranked as the most polluted city on earth where air pollution may be 60 times higher than what is considered safe. Javadekar also urged citizens to corporate and try to switch to eco-friendly mode of transport. He also added that in Ghaziabad city, adjacent to Delhi, industries have been kept under watch-list.
