MP twin train tragedy: Death toll climbs to 28

Bhopal/ New Delhi, Aug 05 (ANI): The death toll in Madhya Pradesh twin train tragedy due to flash floods climbed to 28 and that of injured was taken to 100 on Wednesday. The accident spot, where several coaches of two trains swept off a bridge in the state following floods, was crowded with victims and relatives of the victims looking for their family members. Meanwhile Union Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will visit the spot and take stock of the situation. Twelve coaches of the Kamayani Express to Varanasi from Mumbai and six coaches of the Janata Express derailed near Harda district on late Tuesday (August 04) night. It is unclear as of how many passengers were on the trains. In wake of the incident, several trains including Mysore – Varanasi Express, Bangalore City-New Delhi Karnataka Express, and Nanded – Amritsar Sachkand Express have been diverted. Ajmer Hyderabad Express and Sriganganagar Nanded Express have also been diverted.
