No proof that I helped Lalit Modi; if helping an ailing woman crime, I accept being criminal: Sushma

New Delhi, Aug 06 (ANI): After days of protests and sloganeering by the opposition, Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj on Thursday, making her first statement on the Lalit Modi row in the Lok Sabha, refuted all the allegations by the opposition. In a Lok Sabha, deprived of Congress, Trinamool Congress and other opposition members, Swaraj said that she has been trying to discuss the issue but didn’t get chance due to disruptions created by the opposition MPs. Swaraj challenged the opposition parties to get any proof that maintains that she helped Lalit Modi. She said that she didn’t ask the British government to provide travel documents but the latter itself passed the documents based on their rules. Further, a furious Swaraj also said that if helping an ailing woman is a crime, she is ready to accept any action that the house wants to initiate against her.
