Seven die after truck collides with auto rickshaw in Bihar

Arwal, Aug 23 (ANI): Atleast seven people died and three were injured when an auto rickshaw collided with a truck on Sunday (August 23) in Bihar.

The accident took place at Patna-Aurangabad National Highway 98 near Arwal Nagar police station. Six people died on the spot and the injured were taken to nearby district hospital. They were later referred to Patna Medical College hospital.

All the deceased were the residents of Hasanpur Pipra village who were summoned to Arwal police station for mutual settlement in a land dispute case. The accident took place after they left the police station. Ghosh said the police was yet to ascertain about their whereabouts from the time they left the police station to the time the accident happened.

The bodies of deceased have been sent for post mortem. The truck driver managed to flee the accident site while his truck has been seized by the police. The relatives of the deceased have already been given compensation by the state government. The widows will be provided further financial assistance.
