New Delhi, Sept 04 (AN): President Pranab Mukherjee and Vice President M.Hamid Ansari on Friday extended their warm greetings to the nation ahead of the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami festival. President Mukherjee in his message said, “On the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami, I extend hearty greetings and good wishes to all my fellow citizens. Let us on this day imbibe the teachings of Lord Krishna which proclaim the triumph of virtue and righteousness over intolerance and narrowness of mind. On this day, may all of us reaffirm our commitment to pursue the path of duty without concern for reward and re-dedicate ourselves to the progress and prosperity of our diverse and multi-cultural nation” he said. Vice President M Hamid Ansari said “I extend my warm greetings and good wishes to the people of our country on the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami. May this auspicious day bring peace, amity, harmony and prosperity in our lives.”
