PM Modi meets French President Francois Hollande

Paris, Nov 30 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday met French President Francois Hollande on the sidelines of the Paris COP 21. Modi and Hollande are scheduled to launch international solar alliance later in the day, aimed at eventually bringing clean and affordable solar energy within the reach of all. An Indian government statement on Sunday (November 29) said there were well over 100 solar-rich countries in the tropics that could be members of the International Solar Alliance to develop clean and affordable solar energy. World leaders are all set to begin their round of talks with the objective of achieving an elusive agreement to counter global warming, which has reached calamitous levels. Prime Minister also met his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif at COP 21 here today. The two leaders shook hands and exchanged pleasantries. During the conference, India’s 25-member delegation will focus on Prime Minister Modi’s call for ‘Climate Justice’ that he had made in his address at the United Nations General Assembly last month.
