Urs of Sufi Saint Amah Sahib

Kashmir, May 23 (ANI): Souls resemble other souls, And those that resemble each other are in harmony, That is why people are attracted towards those they resemble. The land of Jammu and Kashmir is known for its religious wealth in the form of numerous shrines and places of worship. The valley is replete with sepulchers of saints belonging to both Hindus and Muslims. One example is the shrine of Sufi Saint Syed Amah Sahib in Budgam of Jammu and Kashmir state, visited by devotees of all faiths. During the urs, day-long prayers are held by the devotees to seek his blessings. People from different parts of state also visit the shrine to offer prayers. On the occasion, people from different faiths sit together, eat and pray with equal devotion. They present a perfect picture of interfaith harmony as they perform rituals and offer prayers to the saint. The message of harmony comes out loud and clear at the mausoleum. And it simply reaffirms the fact that amity between different communities has been a way of life in India since ages and it will continue to strengthen the social fabric in times to come as well.
