Devotees flock to Leh to take part in 20th ‘Sindhu Darshan Utsav’

Leh, June 29 (ANI): A three-day festival of Indus River, ‘Sindhu Darshan Utsav’, that commenced on June 24 with zest and religious fervour at Sindhu Ghat Shey in Jammu and Kashmir’s Leh region, a large number of people from across the conutry. The colourful event was organised by Sindhu Darshan Yatra Samiti and Ladakh Phanday Tsogspa. Numerous Hindu devotees from length and breadth of the country reached the venue to witness the grandeur of the festival. Several of them were seen taking a holy dip while performing ‘hawan’ and ‘pooja’. Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh and Bharatiya Janata Party leader Lal Krishan Advani were also present among others. The government is mulling to give added focus to this event to enhance the tourist footfall in Leh.
