Erode (Tamil Nadu), June 27 (ANI): Tamil Nadu’s Department of Food Safety seized five tonnes of adulterated mangoes worth Rs. 75,000 on Monday. The mangoes recovered from Erode district had been treated with ethylene glycol, a chemical commonly used to force ripening of a fruit. An official informed that legal notices will be sent to the sellers and the matter will be investigated further.
