Rajnath Singh asks security forces to avoid using pellet guns

Srinagar, July 24 (ANI): Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday asked the security forces to avoid using pellet guns to control protesting civilians in restive Kashmir, after its widespread use allegedly caused multiple casualties to the agitators. Singh also asked forces to exercise maximum restraint while dealing with stone-pelters, adding the government would set up a panel to look for an alternative to pellet guns. He further appealed to youngsters not to pelt stones at security forces, adding that the government might initiate talks with separatists once normalcy is restored.
