Silver lining! Nagaland gets its first cancer hospital

Nagaland, Aug 30 (ANI): A long-cherished dream of the people of Nagaland has been fulfilled by bringing the best affordable healthcare to the doorstep. Quality and hassle-free healthcare has been made available within the comfort zone of Nagas as Eden Medical Centre (EMC) has rolled-out its first cancer treatment centre in the state. A 75-bed hospital specialising in cancer treatment was formally inaugurated by Nagaland State Minister for Health and Family Welfare P Longon in the presence of Chief of BR Ambedkar Institute-Rotary Cancer Hospital, AIIMS, New Delhi and other state dignitaries. In the future, the EMC plans to upgrade itself to a 100-bedded hospital, which includes suites, cabins, and male and female wards. The brain behind the treatment centre is Yashitsungba Ao, the proprietor of Eden Medical Centre, Dimapur. Nagaland is amongst the highest cancer prevalent states in the country. Eden Medical Centre is the first private multispecialty hospital in the North East equipped with Linear Accelerator for Cancer treatment.
