Annual Navratra fest starts, devotees flock to Mata Vaishno Devi shrine

Katra (Jammu), Oct 01 (ANI): On the occasion of first Navratri, huge rush of devotees was seen at the base camp of cave shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi in Katra on Saturday. The devotees were seen offering prayers and chanting bhajans in the temple premises. Katra town, the base camp of Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine, witness huge rush of pilgrims from across the country and abroad during Navratri every year. The annual nine-days Navratri Festival at holy town Katra started today offering a series of events for the visitors till its culmination on October 11. These events provide a common platform to the people irrespective of caste, colour and creed to interact with each other and share their culture and traditions, which further helps in strengthening bonds of brotherhood and communal harmony.
