BSF detains Bangladesh-bound truck loaded with contraband cartons

Nischintapur (West Tripura), Oct 28 (ANI): The Border Security Force (BSF) detained a Bangladesh-bound truck loaded with cough syrup bottles in Tripura on Thursday. Acting on a tip off, BSF Field Intelligence team during search of the truck discovered huge quantity of contraband cartons hidden under sacks of cement. Nearly 43,400 bottles of phensedyl, along with 14,880 bottles of cough syrup – eskuf were also seized. The total price of the banned contraband is around Rs 71 lakh. Smuggling of drugs in Bangladesh has raised the seriousness quotient of this issue at various levels. During the last two years, BSF had continuously tried to curb the smuggling of contraband and drugs to Bangladesh. BSF along with the state administration during the recent time have ceased huge quantity of dry marijuana and destroyed plantations from the bordering areas.
