Hosur (Tamil Nadu), May 10 (ANI): Like every year, this year also Hosur Kottai Mariamman festival was held with much pomp in Tamil Nadu’s Ram Nagar. The festival was held from 25th April to the 10th May. During this 15-day long festival, devotees performed different kinds of rituals each and every day. To demonstrate their faith towards the goddess, devotees took kavadi (weight) in various forms. Moreover many devotees pierced their skin and became a part of the procession. Some of the devotees expressed their gratitude to the goddess by dancing. Over sixty thousand devotees from Andhra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu came here to be a part of the Kottai Mariamman festival. Heavy police force was deployed in the area for the security of the devotees.
