PATNA: US environmentalist Ram Ramanujam said here on Monday he would provide Rs 1 lakh each to 20 Bihari youths who want to start a small scale industry or other business activities which could generate employment for five persons. Ramanujam was delivering a lecture here to more than 1000 students from various educational institutions of the city, including Super 30 and Ramanujan School of Mathematics.
Earlier, Super 30 mentor Anand Kumar introduced the students to the speaker.
Ramanujam was speaking on the topic, “East is East, West is West, what is the best”. The environmental scientist from California, USA underlined the importance to refine oneself. “At Super 30, students achieve success the hard way, so they remain committed to the society. Students come here to learn and leave to serve the society,” he said.
The environmentalist promised that he would provide financial support to at least 20 enterprising youths. The applicant must prepare a comprehensive proposal containing details about the nature of business, plans on how the venture will survive and grow and how will it provide employment to five persons.
The proposal should be submitted at Super 30 office. After going through the applications, Anand Kumar will recommend them to Ram Ramanujam for final consideration.
