How to Register for Sri Amarnath Yatra 2012 ?

Amarnath YatraWith Sri Amarnath Shrine Board declaring the dates of Sri Amarnath Yatra 2012, people have started to register for the prestigious Amarnath Yatra 2012. Within 10 days, 1,37,096 Yatris have registered themselves for this year’s Yatra, of whom 70,158 have preferred the traditional Pahalgam route, while 66,911 have opted for the Baltal route.

Yatris can register at a nominal fee of Rs 15 per person.

The Registration can be done both Online and Offline through branches of several banks and post offices across the country. The registration facility for the Yatra is available through any of the 274 Registration Counters – 121 J&K Bank Branches, 49 YES Bank Branches, 4 Bihar Central Co-operative Bank Branches, 100 Post Offices, and through the On-line facility on J&K Bank’s website. Yatris who have e-Yatra Permits shall be required to submit their Health Certificate at Baltal/Chandanwari and get their e-Yatra Permits stamped (by the officials of the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board), before being allowed to proceed onwards to the Holy Cave.

The Online Registration facility is limited to a maximum of 5 people at a time.
