Bollywood shocked over the sudden Death of Rajesh Khanna

Rajesh KhannaWhole Bollywood is shocked with the demise of its First Superstar Rajesh Khanna. Kaka as he was widely known was the favorite of all Bollywood Actors. Termed as King of Romance, powerhouse and a giant of the Hindi film industry, Rajesh Khanna gave 15 Superhits movies in a sequel.

Veteran Actors, Directors, Models and all others have paid their condolence to the 69 year old demised superstar.

His Son in Law, Akshay Kumar said to media persons, “I regret to inform everybody my father-in-law Mr. Rajesh Khanna is no more. He has gone to a nice and heavenly place, we are happy about that. I hope everybody who is watching this can just say a small little prayer for him,”.

Veteran actor Manoj Kumar told IANS on phone: “I could not believe that he is no more with us. Earlier it was Dara Singh, now it is Rajesh. I feel god is upset with the industry. Rajesh was a different personality. He made a mark for himself through his hard work.”

Tamil superstar Rajinikanth has expressed his grief over the death of Bollywood’s first superstar Rajesh Khanna. The actor said, “My heartfelt condolences to the legend Mr Rajesh Khanna. I pray to the Almighty, may his soul rest in peace.”

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan said Khanna’s smile will be missed forever.

 

 

Mumtaz, who acted in 10 films with Khanna, including memorable ones such as ‘Ap Ki Kasam’, ‘Roti’, ‘Apna Desh’ and ‘Sachcha Jhootha’ said she had lots of memories of working with Rajesh Khanna. ‘Zindagi ke safar mein guzar jaate hain’ and the peppy ‘Jai Jai Shiv Shankar’ were two perennial hits from ‘Aap ki Kasam.’

Filmmaker Subhash Ghai said, “He was the powerhouse of Hindi film industry. I met him on the sets of aaradhna, he had some kind of energy and you will be charged when he is around you. His name will be written in golden words.”

Veteran actress Vyjayanthimala said, “His death is a big loss to the industry. It’s my bad luck that I didn’t have the chance to work with him because he came much later. I remember when he came to Chennai for some film shoot the college girls went crazy to catch a glimpse of him when he was going to his studio.”

Not only Bollywood but Malayalam film industry is also mourning the death of Rajesh Khanna.

Mourning the death of ‘Kaka’, thespian actor from Kerala Madhu said they met on a few occasions during his heydays and he closely watched Khanna’s acting skills.

“Yes, I remember he was always seen as a heart throb and many in the industry here, then used to closely watch his progress. Certainly he was a good actor,” pointed out Madhu, a heart throb in the industry here in the late 1960s and 1970s.

Ace comedian and character artist Jagdeesh pointed out that when he was a college student, everyone wanted to dress and have a hair style similar to Khanna.

“I remember that after a series of his films became blockbusters, he was ordained with the status of India’s first superstar. Until then, all were known as just stars and he became a superstar,” said Jagdeesh.

Popular actor Mukhesh said that Khanna reigned supreme in Bollywood and it was only after Amitabh Bachchan took over that he lost his number one status there.
