Assam Invites Anand Kumar to start a branch of Super 30

Noted Academician and the founder of Super 30, Anand Kumar has been invited by Assam Government to start a branch of Super 30 in Guwahati. This was told by Anand Kumar himself, after a meeting with  Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi. Mr. Gogoi also offered to help with finances if a Super 30 is started in Assam.

Super 30,   which has established itself as one of the most successful institutes for IIT JEE, is run by Anand Kumar at his home. 30 Students are selected each year on merit-cum-means basis and they are prepared for IIT JEE free of cost. The entire cost of 30 students is borne by Anand Kumar himself through his Ramanujan School of Mathematics.

When Mr. Gogoi visited Patna last time, he paid a visit to Super 30. He was so impressed by the institute that he offered a sum of  Rs 5 Lakhs,which was refused by Anand Kumar on grounds of their no-donation ethics.

Super 30 has also received praise from United States President Barack Obama’s special envoy Rashad Hussain, who termed it the “best” institute in the country.

Newsweek Magazine has taken note of the initiative of mathematician Anand Kumar’s Super 30 and included his school in the list of four most innovative schools in the world.

Anand Kumar has been awarded the Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad Shiksha Puraskar, the highest award by the Government of Bihar in November 2010.
