The Disposal of Plastic Wastes is one of the biggest problems of developing cities like Patna. Till date the City Administration has no clear plans to handle  and dispose the garbage, despite tall claims made by the Municipal Corporation.
An estimate shows that 2000 Kg of Plastic is thrown out as Waste every day in Patna while for entire Bihar this figure is 5000 Kg. Plastic is used in each and every purchase be it either groceries, stationaries, garments or any other item.
This is not that People are unaware of the harm plastic causes, but they are unwilling to change the habit of disposing the plastic randomly which makes it impossible for the Street Garbage Pickers  to collect them.
In fact people find roads as the best place to throw away their garbage. Often it is dumped into the sewer pipes and it flows down deep to cause blocking of drainage waters.
If this situation is not checked, Patna would be sitting on top of Garbage in next 10 years. An estimate shows that people of Patna would have been throwing over 5000 tonnes of Plastic wastes each year by 2020.
