Deoghar brings in Extra Security due to Terror Alert during Shravani Mela 2013

Deoghar: The District Administration of Deoghar has made extra security arrangements this time for the safety of devotees coming in during month long Shravani Mela 2013. Over 50 Lakh pilgrims are expected to visit the holy shrine during the auspicious month of Shravana (Hindu Calendar) which starts from July 23.

Administration has deployed 300 cops from Jharkhand Jaguar Police, an extremely trained unit of Police capable to meet all kinds of unwanted situation. Besides, over 6000 cops of Jharkhand Police would be posted at various locations inside the city during the month long festival.  Special deployment of forces will be made at the bus stand and railway station. NIA has already issued a Security threat at Deoghar after serial bombings at Bodh Gaya early this month.  A Special Disaster Management Team would also be present in the city during the whole month.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Deoghar, ” No stone will be left unturned to ensure fool-proof security and adequate facilities to the kawariyas”.

The Administration has already banned entry of  vehicles in the city limits during the whole Mela and all kinds of vehicles from heavy  buses and cars will be stopped on the periphery of the town.

In order to facilitate smooth offering of Holy-water, the administration has already started a unique Argha System. This will be a great relief to the disabled, the elderly and the women.

Special Arrangements are also being made to handle any medical emergency and facility of water, shelter and health services are also being provided by the District Administration.
