New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Friday said he was opposed to having his life story included in school curricula.
“Am reading in the news that some states want to include Narendra Modi’s life struggles as a part of school curriculum. I firmly believe the life story of living individuals should not be included as a part of the school curriculum,” Modi tweeted.
He said: “India has a rich history of several stalwarts who made India what it is today. Young minds should read about these greats and emulate them.”
The Bharatiya Janata Party governments in Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh were planning to include his life story in the school syllabus.
The Gujarat government had Thursday said it has decided to include all important chapters of Modi’s life into the syllabus of primary schools.
The Madhya Pradesh government had also said that lessons on Modi’s life may be included in the school curriculum.
