Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal met Union Agriculture Minister Radhamohan Singh in the national capital today. Badal asked Singh to exempt Punjab from debts in agriculture sector.
Badal said his state provides maximum grains to the nation and its economy is dependent on agriculture so for its growth the Centre should consider debt exemption and tax waivers on machinery used for farming.

Badal said he has faith that the BJP-led Modi government at the Centre will pay heed to Punjab’s demands. He added the government is well aware of Punjab’s contribution to the nation and will surely work to develop the state.
The Agriculture Minister also assured Badal of appropriate action in this regard.
