A Comprehensive Overview of Amazon India Fashion Week, AIFW 2015

New Delhi: The grand finale of the five day long fashion extravaganza Amazon India Fashion week brought music, fashion, drama and top 25 Indian designers together for ‘Crafts of India’ themed show with the luxuriant Indian heritage of crafts and weaves.

For the first time ever, 25 designers including Anamika Khanna, Ashish Soni, Gaurav Gupta, JJ Valaya, Manish Arora, Manish Malhotra, Tarun Tahiliani and many more together set the stage on fire with hues of royal crimson, gorgeous reds and fiery orange, in ensembles that highlighted Indian crafts and weaves at their best.

Talking about the unity of the fashion fraternity ace designer Gaurav Gupta said.

Day 4

Fashion designers celebrated their inspirations in a theme-based fashion show as models sashayed down the runway in dream outfits in New Delhi. The day 4 of the Amazon India Fashion Week gave designers a platform to showcase the autumn-winter fashion line in a more eclectic way.

Day 2

The day 2 of the Amazon India Fashion Week saw exquisite collection of designers like Hemant and Nandita, Pallavi Mohan, Samant Chauhan, Malini Ramani & Rinka Dhaka. Designer duo Hemant and Nandita, and Pallavi Mohan opened the show with a modern take on the looks from the bygone era.

Designer Samanth Chauhan celebrated the feminine energy with his ‘Rajputana Kumari’ collection. His collection started off with a small girl, or kumari, walking down the runway and represented 16 different forms of kumara. Fabrics like cotton silk, heavy satin, silk, zari, etc. were highlighted in his collection.

Drape gowns, pleated jackets, trousers, and asymmetric skirts, drape-style patterns in gowns, saris in interesting lapel, boat and high collar designs made up an interesting collection. While designer Rina Dhaka’s autumn-winter collection showcased checks, stripes, spider like weaves, asymmetrical designs. Her color palette included Black, shades of beige and gold, a dash of blue, red, pink and green. So with all that drama on day 2 of Amazon India Fashion Week was definitely high on Fashion!
