Bihar Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar today called on the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi in New Delhi. It was a courtesy call. It was the first time the two leaders have met, ever since Kumar assumed office in February.
During the meeting Kumar apprised the prime Minister about the repercussions on Bihar due to the implementations of 14th Finance Commission recommendations. He said that Bihar would lose around Rs 50000 Crores if the recommendations are implemented.
Nitish Kumar also submitted a memorandum drawn after an all party meeting on this issue.
To compensate for the losses, Kumar urged Prime Minister to provide special concessions and tax benefits to the state.
